Owner Terilyn Bissett has had a passion for animals from a very young age. Her caring and compassionate nature has led her to rescue and rehabilitate many four legged friends including dogs, cats and horses over the years.
Terilyn seems to have an inborn understanding of each animal’s personality and therefore is able to communicate and command respect from them. This originally led her to teaching natural horsemanship and equitation after also having been a member of International Pony Club for many years.

Terilyn decided to open her own business in the canine world in 1998 and purchased a company called “The Purple Leash” servicing West and North Vancouver clientele. She began taking training classes from Anne Jackson and various others. Soon new legislation in 2000 allowed the opening of doggie daycares on the North Shore. She quickly opened her full service facility on Pemberton Ave called Waggin’ Tails K9 Playschool, offering daycare, grooming, training, retail and boarding. Terilyn has now been training dogs and horses for over 10 years; specializing in difficult behavioral problems.

Her goal is to create a harmonious relationship between dog and owner. She also continues to rescue and rehabilitate animals on her 25 acre property in Langley and is pursuing her ultimate goal to become a veterinarian in the future. She currently has 3 dogs, 4 cats, 11 horses, goats, bunnies and a llama of her own. Most of which were rescued or surrendered.
Waggin' Tails in North Vancouver has a dedicated knowledgeable staff and certified groomers. Terilyn offers dog training classes throughout the year or personal training if necessary, to fit your circumstances. Her motto is "Through knowledge, patience, understanding and practice; you can create a harmonious relationship with your dog that will last a lifetime."
