Benefits of Attending Daycare

Behaviours such as barking, chewing, anxiety, poor socialization, and doggie etiquette can all be significantly improved by attending daycare on a regular basis. Waggin’ tails can help design a program that fits your dog, your budget, and your schedule.

Activities

We offer a 3000 square foot facility. We designed rooms for different temperaments and sizes. We believe in providing the best environment for your dog to feel like they are home away from home. Every dog has a soft place to lie whether it be a couch or a bed. The dogs enjoy listening and watching Disney movies such as “Lady and the Tramp” or “Homeward Bound” to give them a home like feel. The dogs have a variety of toys and games to play and to keep their minds active and to give physical exercise so you can enjoy your tired, happy dog at the end of the day.

Daycare Activities

We know that all dogs thrive on routine. Each day at Waggin’ Tails we strive to follow our routine. The dogs that attend may be different, which always changes the dynamics, but our activities remain the same. This gives your dog comfort and confidence knowing the environment is safe and consistent. In the mornings it is meet and greet time, a chance for the dogs to say "hello" and get to know each other a little. At about 9:30 the dogs start to go out for a walk, usually 15 minutes or so. This is a chance for the dog to relieve itself as well as getting socialized by another qualified handler. We always work on heeling, sitting at corners and walking comfortably on a leash. Your dog will only be walked with one other dog and is never let off leash. Your dog will have plenty of exercise while attending daycare and safety of your dog is our primary concern. this gives your dog a chance to have a mental break from the daycare and relax for a few moments before going back in to play.

While the dogs are being walked the others are supervised, played with and cuddled by another qualified handler. After the walks are finished we ask that the dogs have a brief quiet time to prevent injuries and mental stress from fatigue. Once they’ve had a chance to rest we will then start to take them for walks again, usually in the mid afternoon. When we are all finished, the dogs await their owners for pick up.

Who can attend daycare?
